Dry Roses and Diary

Our Story

I saw this girl by herself at a party in 2017 and went to chat with her...

This nice guy came and kept me company at a party when I didn't know anyone...

We had a conversation that she doesn't remember at a retreat later that year...

He ditched my 21st birthday party for a salsa convention...

She ditched my 25th birthday party for a laser appointment...

He invited me to lunch with some mutual friends in 2019 and I fell in love with his hospitality and cooking...

I invited her to lunch with some mutual friends and she told me she was getting an arranged marriage...

I secretly started to fall for his 'dad' jokes and dancing skills...

I invited her to go to mass with me...

I asked him if we should have dinner after church...

After dinner and dessert, I went and did my groceries...

We went grocery shopping and I stopped him buying curry leaves because I have a curry leaf tree...

She was kind enough to drop me home

I told him Eastlakes was on the way home so I would drop him off...it was the opposite direction...

During the middle of social dancing, she told me to come to the corner and she handed me a packet...

I gave him curry leaves...

She gave me curry leaves...

I left straight after that...

She left straight away red-faced and giggling...

The next week I went dancing at Off-Broadway...

She brought me biriyani...

I danced bad On2 with him...

She tried to dance On2 with me...it was cute...

I was super sick but still met up with him...

She parked in the wrong car park...

I packed 4 boxes of tissues...

I took her to hotpot and she brought her own box of tissues...

He then took me to a movie...

I went to the movies for the first time in Sydney...

He took my hand and started to dance with me in the parking lot...

People were watching us dance but that didn't matter...

It was getting late...

I wanted masala tea...

I needed to DTR (define the relationship)...

We got tea...

I got my curfew extended so I could DTR

The tea was great...

I was so nervous to DTR...

She drove me to Parramatta station so I could go home...

I was running out of time...It was now or never (cue dramatic music)...

She asked me if I  could DTR...

He didn't know what DTR meant...

I told her I saw her as more than just a friend

I squealed and said Thank God...

She literally yelled out Thank God...

I was so happy...

I met the parents 2 days after...

I met the parents through video call a week later...

I set up a heater in her backyard for her mum...

He constantly kept serving my family

I told her that I loved her...

I knew he was the one...

She just kept leading me to God...

I saw God's love through him...

I popped the question...

I said yes!!!
